Have you heard of Hoodie Allen? If not you’re missing out. A rapper, former Google employee, and UPenn graduate (so is Chris, coincidentally), Hoodie started making music in 2009. After the insane viral success of the track “You are not a robot” in summer 2010, and three mixtapes later, Hoodie recently released his debut album, All American (debuting at #10 on the Billboard top albums chart).

Back in February, Chris and I got a chance to hang out with him and make some pictures.  Keep reading for a few more shots, some behind the scenes photos and a peak at Hoodie Allen’s newest video…

It’s been another week on the road for our crew. We kept it fairly local, scouting and shooting in New York and New Jersey, working on an advertising project that has us all over the place for the next few months. We’re off to the west coast next week, but make sure to keep reading to see our recap on the last few days.

This time last year we were packing our bags (and swimsuits) to fly out to Hawaii for an almost three week long project working with Travaasa Hana, a spa resort on the island of Maui in Hawaii. You might remember that we live-blogged the entire shoot, all seventeen days of the project. Not only was that the kick-off to our new blog, but it was also one of the most fun and interesting shoots we’ve had in a while.

That being said, when I came across some behind the scenes video footage a few weeks ago, I thought it would only be appropriate to cut together a quick clip from the shoot. Many thanks to our superstar assistant Jeff Elkins for filming these clips. Enjoy!

We had a pretty cool package arrive at the studio from across the pond this morning. When we learned that Wired Germany would be running a few images from our shoot with David Karp, founder and CEO of Tumblr, we were excited but didn’t know what to expect. Would it be the same article that ran in the UK edition, or something new entirely? Keep reading to find out and see a few more photos of our shoot…

Another week on the road is coming to an end as I’m trying to blog before hopping on a flight back to Philly. We had a great week prepping for the kickoff shoot of a really awesome advertising project we’ll be embarking on (and hopefully blogging about) for the next few months. The first shoot took us to Detroit for a few days and couldn’t have turned out better. Keep reading to see what else we were up to this week…

If you haven’t already figured it out, we’re pretty excited about our new camera around here. As with any new piece of technology that makes its way into the studio, I make it my job as studio manager and resident technophile to understand it as greatly as possible.

Having a nearly perfect setup (from shooting a few portraits) and a minute to run a few tests, I thought why not? It was time to break out the color checker and get down to some seriously geeky camera tech. I know it might not be the juiciest material we’ve ever put up on the blog, but keep reading to see what we found out when it came to custom DNG profiling our brand new 5D mk III…

We’re excited to be releasing two brand new photos today. These conceptual portraits came about in a very similar process as our airplanes girl photo that we’ve blogged about in the past few weeks. Make sure to check out the main portfolio to see them in their full-size awesomeness.

Keep reading for some behind the scenes shots of how these photos came together…
