And we’re back.

After a much needed bout of rest and relaxation for Chris, myself, and everyone else on team Crisman, we’re excited to be back in action looking ahead to 2013. I always find the first few weeks of the year to be an interesting time – it feels almost like the first moments before dawn, right before the sun rises. You’re a little groggy, bleary eyed, but excited and hopeful for what the day ahead will bring.

Even though we’re only in the early dawn of the year, there’s a ton to be excited about already. As I’m writing this Chris is already on the road headed out to a shoot, and later this week we’ll be making our way down south for another project. Beyond that we’ve got a handful of adventures planned this year, and who knows what else will crop up along the way.

As for this blog in 2013 – we’ll keep sharing! We’ve spent the last two years telling our story and the new year can only bring bigger and better things for this blog. We’re curious though, what else do you want to know? What other information can we share? What do you really want to know? Drop us a line in the comments or @crismanphoto & @robertluessen.

Whew. What a crazy run. Thankfully it’s Friday and also the 12th day straight we’ve been working, traveling all over and making photos. This trip took us home base in Philly to New Mexico, Los Angeles, the Mojave desert, Washington DC, New York, and back to Philadelphia.

We braved the surprisingly freezing temps and deceiving sands of the desert to make a new body of landscape work, shot a practically extraterrestrial editorial assignment, and spoke about the history of Chris’s career all in the past few days. It all flew by and now that it’s done, here’s our double dose of photos and stories. Keep reading to see what’s kept us busy the past fourteen days…

This is it! Tomorrow, November 15th, one night only in Washington DC. Thanks to the APA of Washington DC, we’ll be sharing the story and evolution of Chris’s career as an artist. Our keynote presentation will begin at 7:0pm in the Josephine Butler Parks Center. We’ve got a great show planned and we hope to see you there.

Don’t forget we’ll be giving a way an archival inkjet 24×50” print of our Kinzua Bridge Landscape, signed in person by Chris. The only way to win is to be there! The good news is that tickets are still available online and at the door tomorrow evening.

For everything else they’re offering up at the silent auction tomorrow night, make sure to check out APA DC’s website

We hope to see you there! Let us know @crismanphoto or in the comments if you’re gonna make it!

That’s right! We’re excited to announce as part of our keynote presentation next week down in Washington DC, we’ll be giving away a signed 24×50” original print of Kinzua Bridge, one of Chris’s iconic landscape images. Printed on Red River Aurora Art Natural paper, this is the largest print we’ve ever given away and we’ll be there to deliver it in person to one lucky winner at our exclusive speaking engagement.

We’ll be speaking at the historic Josephine Butler Parks Center thanks to APA DC. Tickets are still available for APA members and non-members alike – everyone who attends will be automatically entered to win this limited edition original print.

If you don’t win the bridge don’t worry – we’re also donating two prints from Chris’s acclaimed Titusville series. These signed, hand printed, original 24×36” prints will be available as part of the silent auction accompanying the presentation. The opportunity to own a signed Crisman print may not present itself again soon, make sure to seize the moment and we’ll make sure to see you there!
